There's nothing like curling up with a good book and a warm cup of something soothing to capture the feelings you want the holiday season to contain. Reading sparks the imagination and keeps the mind nimble. Each season, I'll bring you my picks for the books that inspire me through the holiday.

This Christmas I'm bringing you a selection of books that are important additions to every child's library and make really great additions to a holiday stocking. Forget the toys! Feed their minds!

Along with another gift or two, I always give the children on my list a book for Christmas and Birthdays. It's a tradition I plan to maintain.

	The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clark Moore, Pop Ups by Robert Sabuda Reading Level: 4-8 The always creative artist Robert Sabuda gives us an inspired pop-up book that retells Clement Clarke Moore's classic yuletide rhyme. "twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring , not even a mouse" The book's production and lively pop-ups are first rate and on a personal note, this is the first book I could read as a child. So the nostalgia on this one for me is doubled.
	The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams Reading Level: Ages 4-8 Margery William's classic tale has a Christmas theme,. Since it's publication in 1922 the Velveteen rabbit has been charming generations of children, inspiring them with the power of love, and sparking their imaginations. Perfect to read to younger children and a good read for Elementary Readers.
	A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens Reading Level: Young Adult+ Charles Dickens timeless classic of Scrooge, Bob Cratchitt, Tiny Tim and the ghosts of Christmas has been filmed and reinterpreted over and over again. Why not expose yourself and your children to the original short story. "God Bless Us Everyone"
	The Child's First Bible Reading Level: Ages 4-8 A Child's First Bible is a collection of 125 of the most familiar Bible passages, from both the Old and New Testaments.
